A Little Sad Today

My Mom called this morning at promptly 8 a.m. to let me know that Weldon Shurtleff passed away this morning at 6. He's not been doing well for awhile now, but especially these past few days. I'm glad that his body finally has the relief it deserves, but my heart goes out to the rest of the family: Pat, Tamara, Shauna, Brent, Kevin, Wendy, and little Weldon. Though I haven't seen Brother Shurtleff for a long time, I still feel like I've lost a member of my own family. I've known him and his family since I was 7 years old, and with them living just around the corner and being in the same ward, we had a lot of contact in my growing up years. He is such a kind man, and I always appreciated his warm smile and kind comments. Till we meet again . . .
