Several years ago I decided to read or re-read (whatever the case may be) my Teachings of the Prophets manuals. Because I had been raising babies during the years that we studied those manuals in Relief Society, I was often tired, and consequently didn't keep up with my reading. I felt that I had missed a great opportunity to understand the gospel better, and so I made it a goal to read each lesson in each of the manuals. I would read about a particular topic in one, writing down in a journal the thoughts, questions, and quotes that hit me, and then would read about that topic in each of the other manuals.
It was an amazing experience studying the words of the prophets that way. I really gained a deeper understanding of the gospel, and I grew to love these prophets, that were before my lifetime, and gained a testimony of the divine appointment that rested upon each of them as a Prophet of God in these the latter days.

Good for you. I remember when you started that goal, and talking with you about it. All I have to say is: I'm still raising babies :). Perhaps one day my time will come.
