Accidents Happen

Never been in an accident before,
really don't want to be in one again, and yet as far as accidents go, this one was okay. The van doesn't look so hot, and it will take 2 to 3 weeks (at least) to repair it, but Christine, James, and I emerged unhurt, as well as the other driver involved and his passenger.
I was making a left hand turn on my way to a dentist appointment. Several cars had already gone through the yellow turning red light. The light had turned red, solid red, when this car came plowing on through. A retired police officer from Michigan came forward as a witness, which was wonderful for us, since the other party was saying that the light was still yellow. The police officer that arrived was LDS which was also nice (we could tell from his CTR ring), because the spirit about him, calmed me and my children. We were 1/2 an hour late to our appointment, and just moments before we arrived, the dentist office had called our house looking for us - that worried the kids still left at home, since they knew that I had left a long time ago.
We got to drive around this Chrysler Aspen for a few days, since it was the only thing that the rental place had that would fit our family. It seated 8, and was quite the luxury for us to drive around. We have been, however, demoted to a smaller vehicle, a blue, Chevy Impala (which does NOT fit our family), while our insurance tries to get the other guy's insurance to pay for a bigger vehicle. It's novel too, however, as it has this great feature of starting up the air conditioning before we ever get to the car (a nice bonus in this heat!)

geesh that's scary! But fun that you get to try out a bunch of new cars! Glad everyone is safe though! How are you driving to Utah without your van?
