I love to listen to young children as their speaking abilities grow and transform. I love how simply they can make me understand what they are trying to say, none of that long, flowery, long winded speech that we older people often get caught up in (much like this sentence). Here are Jalen Andrew's simple, one-liners: As we watched Tuesday's big thunderstorm together, Jalen Andrew stated when the lightening flashed, "It just took a picture of me!" When together we pulled out an old stump in the backyard, "Dad will be happy that you got the big stick."
