11 Months and Counting

He's growing too fast, this youngest one of ours, just growing way too fast. He turned 11 months old this past week, and is definitely acting his age. He is walking all over the house, and it is hard going anywhere with him now because he's not content to sit on our laps, or sit in the stroller; he wants to get down and boogie. He is trying so hard to climb up on all the furniture, but can't quite get the hang of it yet. No worries - he'll figure it out soon enough. He has, after all, figured out how to open some of our doors. We have the french door handles so they're a little easier to pull down on, and it has been quite the surprise for his older brothers to suddenly have Jalen walk in and join them in the bathroom. Boy, does the screaming for Mom get loud then! He is exploring his voice, as of late, and really has some funny sounds going on. He alternates between what we call his Squeaky Voice and his Deep Spooky Voice. He probably uses his Squeaky Voice the most, talking in a sing-songy high pitch squeal. But he also likes to play around with his Deep Spooky Voice, with the sounds generating from somewhere low in his throat. He's quite the Daddy's boy, and he sure gets excited when Erik gets home from work. He is so excited that he can hardly get to Erik fast enough, and as he half runs to Erik, he holds both his arms high above his head, already in pick-up position. Jalen got to Erik before I did tonight, and when I came over to give Erik a hello kiss, Jalen gave me such an unamused look, as if to say, "What do you think you're doin'? Hello - he's holding me. You're invading my personal space . . . " It was funny. He sure does love his Daddy!
