Time for a little update on all the new things Jalen Andrew is up to.
First of all, he writes on everything! Markers, crayons, pencils, he's not picky about his writing instrument nor is he picky about his art medium - tile floor, new refrigerator, cabinet doors, his own lips (he uses the markers as lipstick), homework, carpet, walls - really, he likes it all.

His vocabulary is increasing again. He says "shoe, side (for outside), bye-bye, milk, more, spoon, bird, no, and mine." "Mine" is said quite clearly, and so is "No." He and I play a little game as we head to his crib for night-night. I take him to various items (other people's blankets, towels, clothes left on the floor, etc.) and ask, "Is that your blanket?" He tells me "no" until indeed we do find his treasured blanket, which he immediately lunges for and holds tightly.
The other day as he was scooting his way down the stairs, he said his first sentence, calling out over and over again, "Bye-bye, baby." It was cute enough to hear him, and then I realized that he was waving at his own picture as he went by.
He has definitely gotten taller, and can now open drawers around the kitchen, and reach inside to extract the contents. He has also learned how to overcome the problem of us placing things on the counter that we don't want him to have. He solved that problem, early Easter morning, by pushing the kitchen stools around, climbing up on them, climbing up onto the counter and helping himself to the other kids' Easter baskets!

And just a funny little thing that he likes to do lately is twirl himself around in circles until he gets so dizzy that he falls down. Then undeterred, he gets back up and does it again, over and over again. Silly little pickle! He's so fun to have around.

Hahaha that is the cutest phrase about "bye-bye baby" while looking at himself...how darn cute!! That's pretty funny about the easter baskets too! He is growing up too fast! I hate not being closer
Very cute. Love that he said bye bye baby to his own picture. It amazes me how quickly they grow up.
Oh, I miss him! Too big, too fast.
