At the 8th Grade Awards Ceremony, Christine earned the Civics Award (only 2 students per subject matter were awarded) and also the Pride of Paseo, which is given to those students who embody the character traits of respect, trustwothiness, citizenship, fairness, responsibility, and caring. We're really proud of her, in her academics as well as in the way she steps up as a leader to her classmates.
At promotion, there were a handful of awards given out. To her surprise, and ours, she was awarded the Peoria Prinipal's Association Award, which is given to two students who's help and leadership impact the school. Most of the awards given out at promotion were given to the student body president, the NJHS president, etc., so Christine was quite astonished that she had been given this honor. In fact, she was in such shock that her teacher had to prod her up out of her seat to go and accept the award.

Can't believe our baby has grown up!!! On to high school we go!

With the end of the school year,
yet another chapter closes.
Rebekah is done with elementary school and her junior high years.
It's time to move on, and head off to high school.
We're proud of her contribution to the school;
all that she did is reflected in her receiving a Pride of Paseo Award.
And Joseph finished off the year,
by receiving the Band Student of the Year Award,
voted on by his fellow band members.
We're so proud of both of you!
James is proud of how BIG he can build his Thomas the Train tracks.
James is also proud of how BIG his sunflower plant is growing. He checks on it several times a day, and most of the time laments that it is dying. Does it look like it's dying to you? Healthy and strong that plant is!
But were proud of how BIG James has grown this year, inside and out! He's got a BIGGER vocabulary, BIGGER ideas, BIGGER control of some things, a BIGGER smile, and BIGGER hugs.
Good-bye kindergarten! James is on to BIGGER and BETTER things!
